Love stories are as unique as the couples themselves and every wedding has its own special flavor. Rachel and Colin’s wedding was no exception, as their eight-year journey from high school sweethearts to life partners led them to create a day that was a true reflection of their love story.

They celebrated their love with a relaxed wedding, filled with personal touches and a romantic atmosphere. As their trusted wedding planner, we were thrilled to help make their dream day a reality!

Rachel and Colin’s love story is one for the ages. High school sweethearts who stood the test of time, they spent eight wonderful years together before deciding to tie the knot.

Their shared love for travel had taken them to picturesque destinations like The Smokey Mountains, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida. It was on a beach in Saugatuck, Michigan, where Colin popped the question, marking the beginning of their next adventure together.

To add a touch of romance to the relaxed atmosphere, Rachel and Colin chose shades of pinks and blues as their color palette. These soft and dreamy colors created a beautiful and timeless ambiance that perfectly matched their vision of a relaxed yet romantic wedding.

Rachel and Colin’s nuptials exuded an air of intimacy and authenticity. As they exchanged their heartfelt vows, a moment of spontaneous merriment emerged when the couple, known for their adventurous spirit, surprised their guests by taking a shot of vodka!

It was a joyful and memorable addition to the ceremony, serving as a playful reminder that love can be both meaningful and filled with moments of delightful spontaneity.

One of the standout features of Rachel and Colin’s wedding was the delectable food choices. The wedding kicked off with a large grazing board from Mongers Provisions, a charcuterie and cheese lover’s dream.

The board was a beautiful assortment of artisanal cheeses, cured meats, and other delectable treats, highlighting the timeless appeal of charcuterie boards. This choice of appetizer resonated with the guests and set the tone for a relaxed evening.

From the very beginning, Rachel and Colin made it clear that their wedding was to be non-traditional and relaxed. This was a couple who wanted to celebrate their love in a way that truly represented their personalities and journey. Instead of traditional catering, they opted for two food trucks that perfectly matched their laid-back style.

Guests enjoyed a diverse menu that catered to various tastes, from Bigalora’s wood-fired pizza to Pita Post’s delicious Mediterranean cuisine. These food trucks brought a fun and unconventional element to the wedding that perfectly aligned with Rachel and Colin’s vision.

And who doesn’t love old-fashioned ice cream bars for dessert?!

The wedding took place in late summer at The Eastern. We have had the pleasure of working at The Eastern on numerous occasions, and it was always a delight to return. Its industrial-chic vibes and ample space for guests made it the ideal backdrop for this relaxed and romantic celebration.

The couple’s vision for their big day included dancing the night away with their closest family and friends. With a great DJ and an open dance floor, their dream came true as they twirled, laughed, and created lasting memories all night!

Rachel and Colin’s wedding was a true reflection of their love story, filled with non-traditional elements and personal touches. From the mouthwatering grazing board to the food trucks, The Eastern’s ambiance, and their chosen color palette, every detail was carefully curated to ensure their wedding was a relaxed and romantic celebration. It was a pleasure to be a part of this beautiful day, and it’s a reminder that every love story deserves to be celebrated in a way that is uniquely your own.
