Michelle & Michael met in a Classical Studies class at the University of Michigan. Michael sat right behind Michelle and their fate was sealed! Their first date was at the now-closed Quality 16 Theatre in Ann Arbor. They joke that their relationship has outlasted their first date location!

The Ann Arbor City Club is a really great venue that allows all the wedding day activities to take place on site! They have several spaces for the wedding party to get ready, eat breakfast, and relax in before the photos start. Speaking of photos, there are beautiful corners both inside and outside to get portraits made. From a logistical perspective, it really is the perfect venue!

It was really important to Michael & Michelle for their guests to have a great time and enjoy their wedding experience. Since their wedding included both Jewish & Christian faiths, they included descriptions on their programs of each symbol and ritual so everyone understood the meaning behind them.

They had Rabbi Syme to represent Michelle’s Jewish faith & Reverend Lundberg to represent Michael’s Christian faith. The two Officiants went back and forth performing different parts of the ceremony. The Rabbi signed their ketubah and the Reverend signed their marriage license.

Designs That Matter built and decorated the chuppah, provided print materials, & created the beautiful table centerpieces. The team worked hard to make everything perfect! They even showed up early for cleanup because the rain was threatening the beautiful afternoon we started with.
After the ceremony, guests were able to enjoy good drinks, food, and sunshine on the patio while photos were being taken under the chuppah.

Meanwhile, my team, vendors, and venue staff were upstairs putting the final touches on the reception room!

To start off the reception, the bride’s dad said a prayer and cut the challah.
By the way, the wedding cake was not only beautiful but delicious as well! I tried both the strawberry & chocolate layers. Chef’s kiss!

Don’t let the fact that this was a brunch-time wedding let you think this family didn’t get down…cause when I tell you the dance floor was always packed…it might as well have been a nightclub! This family loved to dance! The bride and groom even go to DJ a song or two!
